How to play Connect 4
Connect 4 (also called Connect Four) is a classic strategy board game. Players take turns dropping colored discs into a 7×6 grid. The disc falls to the lowest empty slot in that column.
The first player to form a line of four discs—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally—wins. If the board fills with no winner, the game is a draw.
On this page you can play vs AI or 2 Players on the same device. Tap a column (or press keys 1–7) to drop your disc. Red is always Player 1; green is the AI or Player 2.
Tips to win
- Control the center column—it creates the most winning lines.
- Watch for forks: setups that threaten two fours at once are hard to block.
- Block your opponent’s three-in-a-row immediately, even if you wanted another column.
- Against the AI, force it to respond while you build a second threat.
